We asked ten of our fabulous members what their top tip is when it comes to being happy. Here is what they said.

My top tip to being happy is to look after yourself. Make sure you eat something, even if it’s small. Remember to drink plenty of fluids. Make sure you get some rest. Take any medication that you’re supposed to. Do something you enjoy, like listening to music, going for a walk or reading. Overall, just do things that make you happy. These things can drastically change your mood. – Riley

Surround yourself with people that positively influence you in your life. Don’t be around people that make you feel down or who like to complain a lot because that could unknowingly be bringing you down too! – Ella Rose x

When it comes to being happy, my top tip is to be kind to everyone. Always treat people how you want to be treated. So treat people with respect and kindness, and you will be returned with the same. This always makes me happy because I feel like a nice person. – Emily xx

When it comes to being happy, my top tip is listen to your favourite music as this calms you down and helps you relax and unwind. Surround yourself with people and things that make you happy. And do the things you like that makes you happy. – Jack

My top tip to be happy is to do activities you love; no matter what other people think! Hobbies such as playing music, drawing and cooking, and many others are great ways to keep you occupied and cheerful. If you do not already have a hobby, I would recommend finding one and experiment with different things because it makes all the difference when you are stressed and unhappy! – Ella xxx

What makes me happy is talking to a close friend, even if we don’t talk about why I’m sad or worried the distraction cheers me up a lot. – Ailsa xxo

Do things that make you happy. Join a drama group if you love to perform. Join a local gym or sports team if that’s what you love. I’m happier than ever after joining my local drama group and girl guides. You’ll meet people who are interested in the same things you are. You make friends who you can have fun with. This is also a great way to get out of your comfort zone and over social anxiety; as you’ll have something to talk about! – Kaya

My top tip to being happy is stop listening to negative people’s comments, be yourself, and don’t change for people if it makes you unhappy. Ignore the haters and you do you! Being yourself and blocking out hate will boost your happiness immeasurably! – Akira

Stop comparing yourself to others. Yeah they may be beautiful, but you don’t have to be beautiful like them, daisies are lovely as are stars and they are so vastly different. So be beautiful like you. Ultimately, you are the person that you have to spend the rest of your life with so it makes sense to love yourself. Even if you’re not happy with yourself, you can grow and evolve and start to become completely content with yourself. You are yours before anyone else’s. So maybe rather than hating every inch of your being, you get up with a smile make yourself a cup of coffee and find one thing that you like about yourself. Whether it’s the way your eyes twinkle in the moonlight or how fiercely competitive you are. Just be you. – Meg :3 x

Embrace the small things! Small daily occurrences sometimes manage to put a smile on your face for no particular reason. Maybe it’s the dog that ran over to you in the park, or a video that made you giggle! Embrace these little things, they make you happy without you even realising it! – Chloe x

These where our individual tips on how to be happy! We hope these can help you in any way!
