Three business people and supporters have used texting to help out young people.
Respect Yourself, the non-profit organisation helping young people make better decisions in their life, shows how the different generations of people can support each other. The Lord Mayor and Sheriff attended the photoshoot on the steps of the Forum in Norwich, with younger and older people.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. We’ll be supporting Young Minds by sending out messages this week on mental health for young people.
We’ll be taking a photo featuring members of the public to show all generations in Norwich. It’s to show people of all ages helping one another and being part of one big community, passing on knowledge and learning from each other.
Do you have more than one mistake in your wardrobe? If the answer’s ‘yes’, come along to our fun event at St Giles Hotel on 7th June starting at 6:30pm. Admission £5, and a donation of a wardrobe ‘mistake’ to be sold on the night – all proceeds to Respect Yourself.
If you live in Norfolk, come to the Hethersett Easter Fayre on Saturday 7th April at the Hethersett Village Hall.
Admission is free, and there are toys, games, competitions, books, refreshments, a visit from the Fire Brigade, and local stallholders.
During November, Aviva UK asked its employees to “Nominate One” in Corporate Responsibility categories – Fundraising, Volunteering, Street to School, Green and Outstanding – allowing people to nominate their colleagues for the charity and goodwill work that they do inside and outside the workplace. Over 150 nominations were made, with over 1000 votes being cast. The nominations were shortlisted to three per category, and the results were announced in December.
We will be supporting Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2012 this week, run by Norwich-based charity beat.
The theme is around breaking the silence – how important it is to take the first step and start talking to someone if you have an eating disorder, and for people who have or have had eating disorders to speak out about their experience and the support they received.
