Dyslexia is a physical difference in the structure of the brain that affects 1 in 20 people, and as such affects somebody’s learning. Though classified as a disability it is not something wrong with an individual, it is just that their thought processes work differently.

Can I get free eye tests?

You can get free eye tests on the NHS if you are under 16, if you are under 19 and in full-time education, or if you are receiving certain benefits. Eye tests don’t just check for near- and far-sightedness, they also check eye health and early testing can prevent conditions from worsening.

How important is sleep?

Lack of sleep leads to low concentration and alertness, resulting in poorer grades. Additionally, it decreases your immune system function leading to more likelihood of illness. Research recommends 8½ to 10 hours of sleep each night.
