Set the end of the summer as your deadline and work towards achieving something of your own choosing for yourself, so you don’t feel the time was wasted. Create a project, don’t rely on someone else to!
Choose a lifeguarded beach and always swim between the red and yellow flags. That way you know you’re swimming in an area which is safe from dangerous currents, and you’re doing so under the watchful eye of the lifeguards.
In the UK in 2011, 28 people died getting into trouble whilst swimming at the coast, 62 in rivers and 20 in lakes and reservoirs.
If you know you’re going to travel at least twice in a 12-month period, consider an annual travel insurance policy instead of single trip cover – it can work out cheaper.
