If you talk about your friends behind their back, think about how it is likely to make them feel. Think about how you would feel if the things you’ve been saying to others were said about you by your friend.
To gain perspective means you know how to change the meaning of a circumstance. Your new perspective changes the meaning of the event, which changes the feelings you have in response, which changes what actions you take.
Teach all family members to be responsible for their own mess. If you take it out, put it back; if you open it, close it; if you throw it down, pick it up; if you make a mess, clean it up.
Two skills are important for managing your workload effectively: understanding the difference between nonessential tasks and critical tasks, and knowing how to prioritise your tasks in terms of importance and urgency.
Make sure you don’t squander your effort with long to-do lists that are full of busywork. Each action you do should create some value; some more than others.

However good or bad a situation is now, it will change. Change won’t always be easy or obvious at first; if you learn how to embrace it, in the end it can be worth it.
If tidying up seems a large and daunting task, start small by tackling the current clutter a room at a time. Prevent future build-up by using the mantra “Don’t put it down, put it away”.
