For every one negative “fact” you’ve decided about yourself, there are other tens of positive facts about you. Choose what to notice about yourself, and value the strengths that you have.
Low self-esteem can cause you to notice and accept as true only the negative facts about yourself.
“Cognitive empathy” is “perspective taking” – our ability to identify and understand other peoples’ emotions.
“Affective empathy” refers to the sensations and feelings we get in response to others’ emotions – mirroring what that person is feeling, or just feeling stressed when we detect another’s fear or anxiety.
To get over jet lag quickly, adjust to your destination as soon as possible. Set your watch to the time at your destination as soon as you board the plane and try to eat and sleep according to appropriate times in your destination.
