A budget is a plan detailing how you spend, based on how much money you have coming in and how much you need to pay out. This means looking at your income (the money you are receiving) and your outgoings (the money you are spending), and making sure you have more coming in than going out.
Remember, revision is just that – it is about seeing something again and refreshing your knowledge. It is not about new work. If you have worked at a steady pace throughout the year, revision will be relatively straightforward.
The most effective way to study is attend class regularly, take good notes, do your homework, and otherwise be an active student. If you have done this, you are already way ahead of students who have not been doing this.
Too much pressure from others’ expectations can affect you psychologically (feeling helpless, depressed or low), socially (relationship problems like fighting or poor communication, or difficulty concentrating at school or work) and physically (feeling tired or ill).
You may not catch every self-critical thought, but with practise over time you’ll catch more and more, and the progress will add up.
Once you identify a limiting belief – such as “I’m not lovable” – you can start to change it by looking for evidence to support the opposite belief.
It can be satisfying to feel in control of your money, and perhaps to watch your savings grow. Saving even small amounts of money as regularly as you can will help give you the security of knowing that you have some you can use if an emergency arises.
Managing your money effectively means not paying more than you should for something, it helps you keeps things simple like automatic payments, and enables you to plan ahead such as booking a holiday in advance when you know you’ll have enough money to pay for it and take with you.
Others place expectations on you: they may want the best for you, and want you to have what they couldn’t. Some may try to place their principles on you, where their values are not ones that you would choose for yourself, and expect you to live up to them as they had to.
Everyone has goals and expectations for themselves. Some feel that meeting high expectations is the only way to gain the approval of others, or that achievement is the only way to be happy. Some set high expectations for themselves to push them to strive for and achieve bigger and better things.
