When you put things off a lot, you end up putting things off until it’s too late from time to time. When you procrastinate, you take the chance that nothing will go wrong at the last minute – but in the real world, things do go wrong.
Worrying is wasted time. Use the same energy for doing something about whatever worries you.
If you do a job lazily, you will need to do it a second or more times to get it done properly. So being lazy about it makes more work for you than there was initially.
Divide study time into sections that make sense and work for you. Set a small but real reward for achieving each goal (e.g. 2 sections of a chapter), and stick to it.
Make a study schedule you can stick to; make one like your class timetable. Studying regularly as you go along helps you learn more of the material, each week.
Add at least 10% extra as contingency when planning – in terms of time/cost/effort. This applies to all activities – homework, journeys, house jobs, shopping.

Instead of just living day-to-day, plan the small steps of how you can make a better future and do a little bit each day.
Sometimes doing things in a simple way can give you a much more effective result. Focus on what you want to achieve, and determine the simplest steps to get there.
If you have time to spare, get a hobby. Try something that relaxes you or adds benefit to your life or someone else’s. It should be something that you can enjoy and look forward to.
