Locking away grief doesn’t make it go away. Express it. Cry, scream, pound the floor, talk it out. Do what helps you the most.
If a family member has died, it is important to be honest about your feelings. Don’t deny your pain, or your feelings of anger and guilt. Only by examining and coming to terms with your feelings can you begin to work through them.

If someone has a problem but hasn’t asked for advice, try listening, conveying empathy and asking questions so they can tap into their own immense personal resources.
Make sure you don’t squander your effort with long to-do lists that are full of busywork. Each action you do should create some value; some more than others.
“Busywork” is work that keeps someone busy but has little value in itself – it makes you look busy, or actually keeps you busy, and passes the time despite being essentially pointless.
